Stantec has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer in our New York office.
Setting up Design Concepts and providing quality control and technical review of designs for Plumbing and Fire Protection.
Coordinating with the design engineers to establish the project’s goals and requirements including technical approaches.
Performing required project technical tasks such as: building surveys and acquiring base building information, performing appropriate calculations, preparing design concepts and sketches, selecting engineering systems and equipment, designing and laying out systems, writing specifications.
Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and consultants.
Attending construction meetings.
Performing field observation of construction activities, reviewing shop drawings, reviewing the completed installation and submitting a final punchlist.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Mechanical or Civil Engineering program.
5+ years of experience designing building plumbing and fire protection systems.
Experience within a consulting firm is considered a strong asset.
Professional Engineer license is a considered a strong asset.
Extensive knowledge of general building construction for plumbing and fire protection is essential.
