Stantec is seeking an entry level Geologist/Hydrogeologist to support our team of environmental professionals in our Mequon, WI office. The position will support property due diligence, environmental remediation, and brownfield redevelopment projects. Primary responsibilities will be, performing key tasks to support groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, hydrogeologic investigations and model conceptualization, remediation system evaluation, remedial design and maintenance, and statistical analysis of geologic and groundwater chemistry data.
Responsibilities are anticipated to include but are not limited to the following:
Perform and document field data collection activities.
Conduct multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, indoor air, asbestos, lead paint, etc).
Perform data analysis and data visualization using GIS.
Analyze and interpret environmental data
Perform geologic and hydrogeologic research
Collaborate with other scientific and engineering professionals within the practice
Prepare technical reports
Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, manage subcontractors and minor soil excavation projects.
Conduct groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling
Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams.
Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
A BS/MS degree in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, or related field.
Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems.
Working knowledge of field sampling techniques.
Strong technical aptitude. Knowledge of groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling software, GIS, three-dimensional visualization software, database software, etc., is preferred.
Strong organizational and communications skills (ability to communicate in writing, verbally and graphically.
Be an advocate for health, safety, and clients.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training.
Wisconsin Professional Geologist Registration or ability to obtain in the future
A valid driver's license and good driving record.
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening, is required.
