MWH Constructors is a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are currently seeking a civil/structural Superintendent to support our project work on the Lick Run Valley Conveyance System for the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati.

Selected individual will provide technical support to the project to ensure construction work is performed correctly, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance company policy and engineering standards. Specifically, the Superintendent will schedule, coordinate and supervise subcontractors and/or craft employee activities. May involve supervising one or more trade groups (electricians, concrete crews, carpenters, etc.) working in particular construction discipline (civil, structural).


  1. Responsible for the safe conduct of MWHC personnel and subcontractors to ensure a zero accident project. Ensure all site personnel meet minimum safety requirements (e.g. training, orientations, tools and equipment).

  2. Plan and supervise Assistant Superintendents, subcontractors and/or craft activities. Includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.

  3. Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.

  4. Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.

  5. Assist in resolving construction problems (e.g. lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.

  6. Assist Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc., as necessary.

  7. Monitor compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

  8. Maintain liaison with other departments (e.g., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.

  9. Responsible for daily reports documenting project activity. Prepare and report daily activity plans to assure that requisite personnel, equipment and supplies are in place to assure that the next day’s work will be conducted in a safe manner with minimal wasted effort.

  10. Work jointly with other members of the project team to complete the MWHC MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATION PLAN prior to initiating any fieldwork. Use the planning guidelines and tools provided throughout the project.

  11. Assure that direct reporting employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

  12. Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.

  13. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

  14. Teach field and office engineers on methods for scheduling and coordinating work.

  15. Report out as necessary progress and document issues with project scheduler.

  16. Assist project scheduler in weekly updates to the project schedule.

  17. Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings and project coordination meetings as required.




  1. BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or combination of experience, education and/or skills.

  2. 6+ years of superintendent of large projects working with construction disciplines of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.
