Your Key Responsibilities
Direct the activities of department engineering and technical staff to include scheduling and follow up on work results
Apply knowledge of industry standards and power delivery design principles as related to transmission and distribution
Apply knowledge of high voltage substations and transmission systems up to 765kV
Apply knowledge of plan and profiles, general structural arrangements, load trees, material standards & specifications, equipment specifications (including, but not limited to insulators and line hardware); power plans, conduit plans, cable schedules and system studies
Develop discipline specific engineering and technical standards, practices, procedures and techniques
Train, evaluate and assist in retaining qualified staff; mentor staff
Assist with client interactions and project status meetings to attract new business and expand current business
Participate in strategic planning initiatives
Serve as Project Engineer as needed (lead tasks, direct junior staff and perform/direct quality assurance and control exercises)
Your Capabilities and Credentials
EIT/FE required, Eligibility to obtain or registration as a Professional Engineer is required
Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly, juggle multiple tasks, communicate in a clear and concise manner, and provide effective leadership
Must be comfortable making group presentations to various audiences
Education and Experience
A Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, structural design experience is a plus
A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience working in a multi-discipline, consulting engineering environment demonstrating increased levels of responsibility managing projects and clients. Management experience a plus, but not required.
A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in utility transmission line design
