Requisition Number:

Do you really want to make an impact in our living environment and contribute to a more sustainable world?

Do you have the courage to reject our work?

Are you looking for the unexpected and not the routine jobs?

At Stantec in the Netherlands, we develop new products at the intersection of data engineering and environmental management. One of our key missions is to radically improve the affordability and speed of underground hazard assessments so that everyone can enjoy greater protection, compliance and efficiency when preparing and delivering underground infrastructure projects. All of this is done from a sustainable point of view, to improve the quality of our living environment.

In pursuit of this mission, we have successfully launched several web-based products in recent years. Our information products and support software enable our customers and colleagues to immediately identify the location and impact of potential underground threats, such as soil contamination, groundwater, unexploded ordnance and tree roots.

As a Test Engineer your focus is understanding our applications, designing test scenarios and clustering test cases across the applications into a cohesive whole. You work directly with and shape our current and future business-critical processes by preparing test cases and keeping them up-to-date together with developers. Based on your test findings, releases are rolled out or rejected. Besides technical criteria, you also provide substantiated feedback regarding User Experience.

In addition, you actively contribute to the decision-making and implementation of initiatives aimed at optimizing our architecture, development practices and tech stack. For example, CI/CD pipelines and transferring our data services to the MS Azure cloud platform.

The team you will join combines expertise in the field of (geo-)data engineering, software development and environmental management. We focus solely on developing and delivering long-term solutions that solve problems for an entire industry or market. At the moment, we are primarily focused on continuing the development of our successful range of data-driven solutions for underground hazard assessment, as we continue to see significant potential for further growth and meaningful improvements in our product offering. In the coming years, we expect to expand our scope with new data-driven products aimed at providing lasting solutions to challenges in the area of spatial planning and energy transition.

Our way of working is Agile. This is not a goal in itself, but we see it as an excellent way to remind us to keep thinking from a customer perspective, set clear goals and give the development team the freedom to decide how best to achieve our goals.

What are your main responsibilities?

• Understanding current products and test procedures.

• Designing, expanding and keeping test procedures up-to-date.

• Provide concrete solutions for errors and bugs in consultation with developers.

• Collaborate with the development team to resolve bugs.

• Contribute to the development of the disciplines within Stantec, e.g. by providing substantive guidance to your colleagues in the team and by clarifying the usefulness and necessity of specific tests in non-technical terminology.

This is what you’ll get in return:

Your thoughtful solutions deserve a reward. You’ll find this in the form of good working conditions and a professional environment that is as innovative as your ideas. Your well-being is our priority. This is what you will get from us:

• Freedom to experiment and work with the latest technologies in your field, you do this together with a committed team of 15 development professionals.

• A climate neutral working environment where sustainability is paramount. This is reflected in an electric vehicle fleet, vegetarian catering and cool collaborations with charities.

• A diverse team and an inclusive culture. We pursue an active diversity policy to contribute to equal opportunities. Talent and competences are the starting point.

• Plenty of room for your own ideas and initiatives.

• You can work anywhere and at any time to ensure you can work to the best of your ability, one day in a bustling open-plan office where colleagues from all layers of the organization work side by side, and the next day you might work from home and enjoy an afternoon gym session.*

• A working from home arrangement, we will provide a suitable workplace set up at your house and you receive a monthly net internet allowance of € 36.10 per month.

• Infinite joint activities and fun training sessions that make work no longer feel like work.

• We have offices in Arnhem, Delft and Oosterhout (North Brabant).
