Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Recovery Coordinator, IT to join our team.

In this role you will work within a dedicated IT disaster recovery team and with key members of IT who will be involved with the planning, implementing, maintaining, testing, and deploying of the IT disaster recovery plan. Your key responsibilities will be analysis, documentation and coordination to help develop and then maintain the DR program. You will also have a key leadership role in helping to coordinate test and live DR events and then leading postmortems to improve program quality.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the DR manager (and other DR team members) develop and maintain documentation critical to the DR program

  • Identify the applications and services that are critical to the business and help maintain this information on an ongoing basis

  • Develop ongoing relationship with IT service owners, business owners and applications owners in order to keep the program up to date

  • Working with the DR manager assemble assessment data and deliver it to Senior and executive IT management for a disaster declaration decision

  • Coordinate the activities for test and live DR events:

    • Ensure that all primary and alternate resources are engaged
    • Update the DR manager and other stakeholders as the test and live DR event progresses
    • Ensure that the proper recovery plan and prioritization is adhered to
    • Working with the DR manager Coordinate initiation of the recovery plan once approved
    • Facilitate communications during the event or exercises
    • Ensure that exercise lessons learned are rolled into the IT DR plan
  • Provide backup to the DR manager

  • Supports corporate policies, procedures, and best practices pertinent to supporting disaster recovery

  • Maintain all the above to the IT standards that Stantec IT has established

Qualifications

Capabilities & Credentials

  • Experience with Windows, Linux, and CommVault

  • Working knowledge and experience within a large Enterprise

  • Business Analyst experience is a strongly preferred asset

  • Project management experience within a large enterprise would be an asset

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Teams, etc.), with an ability to become familiar with other Stantec specific applications and software

  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills

  • Strong written and documentation skills

  • Highly self-motivated and directed and keen attention to detail

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with some experience with hands-on technical troubleshooting experience

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Strong task management and problem-solving skills with multi-tasking abilities

Education & Experience

  • IT related certificate or diploma or equivalent education and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related role

  • PMP would be an asset
