Your Opportunity

Stantec is a top 10 global design firm with some of the most exciting and complicated AEC projects on the planet. We’re looking for someone to work alongside our visualization team inside Stantec’s Innovation Office to help relay that project excitement in creative and visually inspiring ways. We are a passionate, innovative, and inclusive group looking to expand our service offerings to include more real-time and XR experiences using Unreal Engine.

Stantec’s Innovation Office is seeking qualified applicants to join our Visualization Technology team to contribute to and inspire our ongoing efforts to introduce real-time visualization products and tools using the Unreal Engine. The position includes working with some of our 22,000 designers on active design projects to help conceptualize and deliver stills, animations, and real-time output. You will also work closely with our Unreal Development staff to envision and help deliver new tools and workflows to support our designers.

The ideal candidate will be an active and contributing member of our team who generally geeks out about the evolving real-time and XR worlds.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Stantec design teams to produce high quality visuals using Unreal Engine

  • Partner with our Unreal development staff on custom development tools for our design teams.

  • Lead a team initiative to help other visualization staff transition to the Unreal environment.

  • Stay abreast of new technologies related to real-time technology and XR products.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong abilities in Unreal Engine, including Unreal Engine Blueprint, Data Prep and scene optimization

  • Understanding of composition, texturing, lighting, rendering and postproduction

  • Experience or professional understanding of the AEC field

  • Experience with Autodesk applications (3ds Max, Revit, Civil3D, etc.)

  • Experience building XR (mobile, HTC Vive, Oculus and Microsoft HoloLens, Apple ARKit, Google ARCore or other major platforms) a plus

  • Must be able to work well within a team

Education and Experience

An undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field or extensive experience in this field.

At least five years of relevant experience is required.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. The team has flexible work arrangements, and a home office environment is an option.
