Your Opportunity

As an Industrial Engineer in Training you will work with guidance and direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of Senior Engineers. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification for engineered systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of AutoCAD drawings from sketches or mark-ups

  • Preparation of BIM Models in Revit

  • Coordination of design and drawings with other disciplines

  • Familiarization with local codes and regulations and co-ordination of drawings with such codes

  • Assistance to the designers and engineers in the facility planning of production floors, maintenance bays, shops, shipping and receiving, and warehouse layout of production equipment, industrial furniture, space and area requirements, functional space summaries, room data sheet coordination, and warehouse racking and equipment design

  • Assistance to the designers and engineers perform Industrial Engineering analysis of workflows, processes and production using Lead Manufacturing and IE Principals and practice

  • Assistance to the designers and engineers in the preparation of material handling and equipment specification of various types of industrial equipment and systems

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Familiar and experienced with AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Visio

  • Able to work independently

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations, policies, and programs, are a plus

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering is preferred, however relevant work/co-op/Internship experience may be considered. Minimum of 0-2 years of experience. Ability to register as an Engineer-in-Training in Canada is required.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
