Stantec Sustainability Consultant / Engineer in Sydney, Australia

About the role

We are seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join our growing Sydney office.

We are involved in a variety of project types including but not limited to within urban development, land development, building services, transport and water sectors.

The successful applicant will be expected to manage large scale projects with minimal support and be able to work independently to deadlines, with an ability to work on a number of projects at different stages of completion.

Potential buildings projects will include commercial office and retail, residential, health, and education. The role will enable the successful applicant to continue to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging career path in a successful firm.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects at different stages of completion.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Support Project Engineers in the completion of projects

• Manage Clients service expectations and commitments as required

• Provide support and mentoring to more junior staff members

• Report and specification writing

• Oversee the documentation process and review drawings for technical accuracy

• Ability to deliver projects with minimal supervision

• Clearly communicate sustainability recommendations and options to clients and project teams

• Liaise with authorities, clients and contractors

• Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures.

Skills & experience required:

• Relevant tertiary qualification.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.

• Experience and Understanding of Australian Standards, National Construction Code etc.

• Rating tool accreditation which may include Green Star, NatHERS, WELL, ISCA

Ideally you will also have the following skills & experience however not essential:

• Experience with building simulation software

• Previous experience working in an Engineering consultancy environment

• Project leadership and commercial awareness

• Maintaining up to date with industry practices, frameworks, and legislation
