The Opportunity

Stantec is one of the few Engineering Consultancies across Australia & New Zealand with in-house expertise in all disciplines required for water resource management. We can provide a comprehensive array of services encompassing innovative conceptual planning, investigations and feasibility studies, environmental planning, financial, economic and energy modelling, risk assessment, design, procurement, asset management, refurbishment and enhancement.

In addition to providing traditional engineering, design and construction management services, we have experience with complex design-builds, alliancing, programme management, information technology, asset management and business consulting.

Due to ongoing work and exciting project wins, our Australasian business is looking to grow its team of experienced Dams Engineers in either our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane offices.

About You

This is an opportunity to push your career forward as part of an international leader in infrastructure. You will join an established multi-disciplined team in either our Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney office, where there is a cluster of experienced engineers and project managers who can guide and mentor you as your build your career.

You will be applying the technical knowledge you have, working alongside senior and up and coming specialists around the country, and will lead and mentor more junior staff.

You will be building your people skills in dealing with a range of clients including local authorities, government bodies and commercial organisations. Our team enjoys positive long-term relationships with clients who've come to rely on us as trusted advisors.

The role in a snapshot includes the following:

•\tProviding technical expertise to project and group managers in the Water sector

•\tProducing and reviewing technical calculations, specifications and drawings, with a solution-focused approach.

•\tSupporting business development by planning and coordinating projects, proposals, and reports

•\tProviding project management and leadership to the team as required to meet our clients’ high expectations

•\tThe preparation and review of cost estimates for our projects’ design and construction.

To meet the requirements of this exciting opportunity in a global company, you will be tertiary qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), and have at least 6 years’ experience within engineering consultancies. Preferably, you will have experience in the Dams space, and a passion to continue a career down this path. You will be confident in your technical skills relating to Dams engineering, and have experience using relevant software along with proven effective communication and client relationship-building skills.
