Stantec is seeking a Senior Civil CAD Technologist to join our highly successful water practice in Surrey, BC. Stantec’s Surrey office is conveniently connected and located next to the Gateway Skytrain Station. The ideal candidate should possess at least 7 -10 years of related experience and will be involved in a variety of planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of municipal and industrial projects, including land development, water, wastewater, drainage, transportation, and related civil projects. With our unique multidisciplinary and often multi office team approach, we work with the latest applications from Autodesk including: AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, BIM360, 3DSMax, Navisworks, RECAP and others.
Your Key Responsibilities
Understanding where, when, how and most importantly if 3D applications should be utilized considering the client’s end deliverable requirements, timeline and budget constraints.
Act as a lead designer, provide design and CAD assistance to engineering staff in preparing plans, sections, details, schematic and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for pump stations, reservoirs, water / waste water treatment plants, roadway, site grading and municipal utility projects
Oversee and delegate work to and mentor junior design staff
Perform engineering calculations and calculate quantities
Coordination of project drawings, models and deliverables with Project Managers, CAD staff and others
Ensuring that projects are completed in a timely and effective manner
Your Capabilities and Credentials
· Proven experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and BIM360. Experience in other listed Autodesk applications is an asset.
· Strong communication and organization skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and a flexible approach to work assignments.
· Imagination, enthusiasm and a willingness to add value to projects and work in a team atmosphere.
Education and Experience
7–10 years of experience as a Civil Technologist.
Registered or eligible to register as a CET or AScT with ASTTBC.
A diploma in Civil Technology.
