Stantec is seeking a Civil Technologist/Inspector to join our highly successful water practice in Surrey, BC . Stantec’s Surrey office is conveniently connected and located next to the Gateway Skytrain Station. Surrey, the second largest city in British Columbia, has lots to offer, from its farmlands to its thriving city centre.
Working in conjunction with the Senior Staff leading Stantec’s team, your responsibilities will include:
Contract administration, cost- controlling, quantity surveying, contract co-ordination, construction progress monitoring and preparation of reports.
Assessing and resolving site-related construction challenges.
Leading work progress review meetings, including documenting the discussion and action items.
You will be expected to lead progress payment reviews and evaluations.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Diploma of Technology in Civil Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering along with 7 years’ experience related to design or construction in municipal infrastructure (pump stations, road works, pipelines and flood protection works).
Knowledge of codes, municipal design standards and design guidelines such as MMCD Design Guidelines.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Office software, particularly with Excel spread sheet.
Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Have or eligible to obtain a valid British Columbia Class 5 Standard Driving License.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with clients, the design team and contractors in the resolution of construction issues.
Have or access to personal vehicle for use on / off project sites.
