Our Global Mining team has a need for an Intermediate Electrical Designer/Technologist based out of our Sudbury, ON office. The successful candidate will work with various clients in completing feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for underground and surface mining operations.

Review and analyze project deliverables for possible safety and constructibility risks and solutions.
Contribution to the preparation of quality technical documents and/or drawings to Stantec Mining standards.
Contribution to/completion of design calculations, equipment/material specifications and data sheets, discipline design drawings etc. with required supervision commensurate with your level of experience.
Working with our Automation Group to develop process simulation and programming (PLC and HMI).
Working with a multi-discipline engineering and design team on a day-to-day basis.
Participation in project meetings.
9Perform various office tasks as required to deliver a quality product on schedule.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
The ideal candidate with possess the following:
Graduate of Technical College in Design/Drafting or the ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge received from previous experience in a similar position.
5+ years of heavy industrial and/or mining specific experience in electrical design.
Proficiency with/exposure to (2 or more would be considered an asset);
Design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.),
3D software (AutoCAD 3D, Revit, Solidworks, SmartPlant, etc.),
PLC Programming (Rockwell, Schneider, etc.).
HMI Programming (Rockwell, Schneider, etc.),
General Programming (Visual Basic, Linux, etc.).
You must be a self-starter and be able to work in a fast paced, team setting.
