If this sounds like something that appeals to you, then look no further than Stantec, where we have an exciting opportunity for a Hydrogeologist to join our Environmental Advisory and Planning team. The preferred location for the position would be our Shrewsbury office; however, we have offices across the country and would be willing to discuss alternative locations.

You will contribute to and manage projects that deliver high quality, pragmatic, advice and solutions to environmental problems in the water and minerals sectors (with a focus on the latter). You will perform a wide variety of technical field and office-based work. You will be able to conceptualise and quantitatively describe subsurface systems and processes and report on these clearly and concisely. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills in a wide range of our core services: water resources, groundwater modelling, hydrogeological impact assessments and catchment management. Having excellent understanding of project/client objectives is essential.

About You

You will ideally have a postgraduate qualification in Hydrogeology or a related scientific discipline and willing to work towards chartered status with a relevant professional body. Have an excellent attitude to teamwork and a strong desire to learn and develop your career in a structured environment.

  • Excellent technical understanding of hydrogeology;

  • Project management experience of small to medium-sized projects;

  • Excellent understanding within the minerals and/or mining sector which could include impact assessments, flood risk assessments, abstraction licencing and discharge permitting, environmental data collection, management, and reporting;

  • Have good knowledge of groundwater modelling (managing or undertaking);
