The Stantec Community Development group is seeking a Project Planner who is an energetic and creative individual for a full time position in the Sarasota Office.

Your Duties

This role will work with multiple project managers though multiple Stantec offices. The selected candidate will be a team member responsible for comprehensive planning & zoning for public and private sector clients. This role has the opportunity to lead to a future Project Management role.

The selected individual should be a task-oriented self-starter, who can grasp new concepts quickly and work independently. Professional appearance and excellent written & verbal skills are required along with the ability to work in a time-sensitive, fast-paced team environment!

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning or related field.

  • 1-3 years' experience in a professional architectural & engineering firm.

  • Create / Review / edit planning reports and assist with client coordination.

  • Land Development Code / Comprehensive Plan research including writing goals, objectives, policies & regulating language.

  • GIS skills for maps / exhibits

  • Public meeting preparation / attendance / presentationsAssisting senior planning staff with tasks as needed.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook email and calendar functions; Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign a plus.

Preferred:

  • Experience with local governmental regulatory process in Sarasota and Manatee County and Florida Growth Management legislation.

  • CAD experience is a plus.

  • Social Media / Website Design & Maintenance skills a plus
