We are looking for a staff environmental scientist to conduct a variety of field data collection activities, collect soil and groundwater samples, data entry and analysis, preparation of data summaries for inclusion in reports, and implement environmental investigation and monitoring plans. The position requires conducting field work primarily in the California Central Coast and nearby areas, as well as office based professional work. This position works as part of a larger environmental services team and may provide support to multiple Stantec offices. A willingness to travel within California is preferred. Candidates may also be requested to support other service areas related to environmental investigation and cleanup projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
1-3 years experience in environmental science or similar, with both field and office experience.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably a BS in earth sciences, physical sciences, or biological science.
Knowledge of field methods for environmental data collection and soil and groundwater sampling experience preferred.
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting, with close attention to detail and ability to carry out technical plans and instructions.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certificate preferred or obtained prior to employment.
Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful completion of a physical and drug screen.
