We are looking for an archaeologist to support the Stantec cultural resources program and project work including cultural resources desktop analyses, risk assessments, report writing in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and Section 106 of the National Historical Preservation Act, as well as sensitivity determinations on non-public lands. This position requires a firm understanding and work experience supporting large-scale utilities providers. An understanding of the cultural resources requirements for utilities construction and maintenance is preferred. This position works as part of the larger environmental services team and will likely require support to multiple Stantec offices. Candidates will also likely be requested to support other service areas related to environmental assessment.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Report writing. Regulatory and client communications.
Tribal coordination efforts.
Completion of projects efficiently within allocated budgets and timelines.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Prehistoric and/or historical resources field experience in California, as well as experience with reporting and laboratory analysis tasks.
A minimum of 7 years Professional and Research experience in California is preferred.
A willingness to travel as needed is preferred.
Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful completion of a drug & alcohol screening.
