As a Civil / Environmental Engineer you will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer/designer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineering principles to select the best plan involving the collaboration with multiple stakeholders and expertise within the company. You will assist in verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
Your Key Responsibilities
Works with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/ designer.
Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/ designer.
Assists with basic engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
Able to apply and learn new technical skills for the planning, design, and management of environmental and industrial projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of civil and environmental engineering concepts and techniques.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and other similar material.
Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from senior engineers/designers.
Knowledge of GIS mapping and analysis.
Ability to help with schematic, conceptual, and final designs and construction plan preparation.
Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with clients, employees and visitors.
Ability to prepare reports and conduct studies.
Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Water Resources or Mechanical Engineering and EIT. Minimum of 0-2 years of experience. Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers mixed with field work, which may include light lifting and exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
