Stantec Director of Rail Engineering in Reading, United Kingdom

Stantec is currently seeking a Director of Rail Engineering to join our ambitious UK team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a well-rounded senior rail professional to join us at a critical stage in our expansion and play a key part in our UK growth.

Stantec’s integrated transport team spans the whole of the UK and understands the importance of connecting people and places together. This is an important leadership role within our Transport group and it offers the opportunity to lead and develop an established team of professionals. Location can be flexible but the successful candidate will ideally be based in Reading, Bristol, Birmingham or Scotland.

As Director of Rail Engineering, you will be responsible for driving the growth and development of our rail engineering services across the UK. You will utilise your proven business development and networking skills to shape Stantec’s presence in the sector by delivering a growth strategy and for the rail engineering business.

You will play an active role in identifying and securing new rail engineering work, working closely with the Transport Leadership Team, with the aim of building our reputation in the rail sector and contributing to the overall success of the wider business.

As an ambitious individual, you will be excited by the challenge of expanding the rail engineering team and growing our market share in this sector. You will be supported by a collaborative leadership team that will help you play an important role in enhancing Stantec's ever growing reputation in the UK.

About You

Preferably chartered, you will possess a relevant degree in Engineering. You will have diverse rail experience, ideally including strategic planning, commercial, railway operations, and a broad based technical appreciation of the multi-disciplinary disciplines that prevail in the rail industry

You will have a successful track record of winning and delivering rail engineering projects. You must also be able to demonstrate experience of developing business cases in the rail sector.

Your experience of developing and growing a rail engineering offer in the UK through excellent client relationships will be critical to your success.
