Your Duties

  • Complete work products for various NCDOT traffic safety projects in the following areas: Fatal Crash analyses, Spot Safety Evaluations, Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), Traffic Safety On-Call analyses, and Division/TIP crash analyses

  • Provide QA/QC for the above mentioned traffic safety work products

  • Create intersection and corridor collision diagrams

  • Compile traffic safety data into report formats, spreadsheets, tables, and charts to highlight and summarize crash trends

  • Coordinate various assignments from NCDOT in areas of traffic safety

  • Collaborate with engineers and planners in multi-disciplines to analyze, research or resolve traffic issues related to safety

  • Assist/prepare signal design plans

  • Assist with redlining roadway design plans

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Completion of a four (4) year college level academic program in Civil Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree OR completion of said degree within one (1) year or less.

  • Course work with emphasis in disciplines related to transportation engineering within the four year program is preferred.

  • Valid Driver's License

Successful candidate will be proficient in:

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Microsoft Word

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

Successful candidate will be familiar with or have ability to learn:

  • Traffic Engineering Accident Analysis System (TEAAS)

  • MicroStation/CAD

  • ArcGIS
