Stantec Senior Electrical Designer in Pune, India

Primary Purpose of Job:

Contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec Resource Net Private India Ltd by providing design and drafting related technical assistance to project managers, discipline lead engineers and engineers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This technical support will be predominantly for Mining sector (materials handling, mineral processing, support services like water, air, used for mining operations etc.) to the Stantec’s offices in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Accountabilities:

• Work as an integral part of the design Team in Australia

• Prepare Cable schedule and cable route diagrams and conduit development

• Design and drafting of MCC and control Panel Elevation drawings and GAs

• Prepare Load schedules and Single Line diagrams

• Design and drafting of Earthing and Lighting layout drawings

• Design and drafting of Electrical equipment, cable tray, conduit layout and plans

• 3D modelling of Raceways, conduits, cable trays.

• Design and drafting of wiring / termination diagrams and schematic drawings.

• Update Project website for latest information

• Coordination with Civil / Mech / Process and other disciplines

• Communicate with global internal clients for input information and project status

• Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management.

• Need to work off-hours for client co-ordination: Occasionally


Senior Electrical Designer


• Bachelors / Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering

• Detailed engineering design Experience preferably in the following areas:

o Mining or Mineral Processing Wet Process Plant (Slurries - Not Oil and Gas) and/or,

o Materials Handling, cyclone scrubbers, and/or

o Non Process Infrastructure (such as water and air services, buildings, maintenance sheds)

• Experience in Bentley OpenBuildings, OpenPlant – Connect Edition, 3D modelling using Bentley Raceway systems – BRCM, Bentley ProjectWise.

• Experience working with AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit will be added advantage.

• Knowledge of Australia and New Zealand engineering standards is must. International standards like ISA, BS, IEC, NEC and NEMA will be added advantage.

• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access etc.)

• Excellent Oral and Written English.

• Competent level of baseline skills, i.e. professional and confident with the essential, basic business and communication skills, presentation skills, learning attitude, good grasping power and should be ready to work as part of the multi discipline and multi office team.
