Stantec Quality Manager in Pune, India

The Quality Manager position will coordinate and implement quality management standards to maintain excellence in Stantec RNet’s deliverables. The Quality Manager will confirm that all projects are in compliance with Stantec and appropriate client standards and meet all legal requirements.

This position is critical in implementing effective quality management so that the deliverables are delivered to a high standard of quality that meets the requirements and expectations of the client organizations. This position interacts throughout the organization internally.

Key responsibilities –

  • Ensure company QMS is in line with organization’s vision, quality objectives and is effectively implemented

  • Prepare, obtain approval, issue, implement and comply with company QMS, ISO 9001:2015 standard and the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies for RNet operations

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice capacity planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance

  • Process excellence is a key expectation of this role. Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate

  • Plan, direct and supervise Quality Control/Assurance function

  • As required by QMS perform activities such as audits, preparation of company standards, notification to management of findings etc.

  • Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of non-conformities.

  • Ensure that all projects are being delivered in conformance with Stantec requirements

  • Establishing, tracking and reporting on trends for key quality metrics including customer satisfaction

  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality strategy

  • Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments

  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements

  • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation,

  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility

  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports

  • Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting

  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required

  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors

  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department

  • Manage, coach & develop high performing quality systems team. Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them


Quality Manager


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working with heavy civil engineering / Infrastructure projects including construction, with 5 years of experience in design and/or management of engineering projects and 5 years of experience in a quality management role

  • Significant equivalent experience in a quality management role directly applied to areas in a consulting practice

  • Progressive responsibility and ability to demonstrate clear understanding of quality management principles

  • Experience in the development and execution of management systems, preferably ISO 9001:2015 compliant

  • Experience in auditing the application of management systems, preferably to ISO9001:2015

  • Able to balance competing interests, as well as recognize and incorporate alternate design approaches that result in greater value for all stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills required

  • Must be able to travel as needed

  • Certification by leading organizations within the quality management industry is desirable

  • Experience in reviewing projects and providing training to new or existing staff is required
