Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for an enthusiastic Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team in Pune. As our Traffic Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of high-profile traffic engineering and modeling projects across the world including microsimulation modeling, pedestrian modeling, intersection assessments, transportation impact assessments, safety studies and data analysis projects. Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist Senior Engineers in conducting intersection assessments using standard software packages such as Synchro, SIDRA, Junctions, and LinSig,

  2. Assist in the development of multi-modal transportation simulation models using standard software packages such as VISSIM, Aimsun, Legion and Viswalk,

  3. Analyze and summarize observed data for traffic counts, signal timings, travel times, and other transportation data,

  4. Undertake data analysis using Excel, R, VBA, Python, and/or GIS,

  5. Assist in the development of model networks, traffic controls, public transport, and other network elements,

  6. Develop a wide range of transportation models and support senior modelers in undertaking calibration and validation as per the client’s requirements, and

  7. Participate in learning and development activities to enhance your skills in various technical areas such as micro-simulation modelling, traffic engineering

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  1. Basic understanding of roadway and intersection geometric elements, signal operations (phasing, timings, etc.), traffic operations, and microsimulation modeling,

  2. Must have worked on model development processes such as network coding including experience coding traffic control, creating demand data sets, and modeling public transport routes, stops, and schedules,

  3. Must have Viswalk and/or Legion pedestrian simulation modeling experience,

  4. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word and experience in programming/data analysis packages such as Python, R and VBA,

  5. Awareness of international model calibration and validation guidelines,

  6. Good written and verbal communication skills, and

  7. Proficient in at least two of VISSIM, Synchro, Linsig and Aimsun. VISUM experience will be considered an added advantage.


Associate Traffic Engineer


  1. A Master’s Degree in Transport Engineering or Planning from a reputed University, and

  2. At least 2 years’ experience working with a consulting firm
