Stantec Associate Building Mechanical Engineer - HVAC in Pune, India
Primary Purpose of Job:
Contribute to the ongoing growth of STANTEC ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing technical expertise in the building sector, as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering conceptual design, outline design, detailed design and construction support for buildings, water/ wastewater treatment projects across the STANTEC offices (UK, US, Middle East, Asia Pacific etc.). To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading edge programmes and projects.
Support project managers/team leader by providing technical support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations.
•\tReview the input received from client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
•\tProvide technical expertise in the area of all HVAC systems as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering conceptual design, outline design, detailed design and construction support for projects across Stantec.
•\tLiaise closely with regional stakeholders (regional project leadership), and in some instances external clients; and local RNet (Pune) team members.
•\tProduce the technical expertise for mechanical deliverables (calculations, drawings, specifications) for other business lines (Water, Oil & Gas, Mining, etc.) as required, apart from Buildings, in accordance with applicable standards and codes for the project.
•\tEnsure quality and schedule for own work.
•\tCoordination with other Disciplines Designers and Engineers as applicable.
•\tProvide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns to Discipline Lead/Project Manager/Project Lead.
•\tStay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline.
•\tAttend project meetings and calls as required.
•\tMay also be required to Train new mechanical engineers
•\tUndertake other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time by management.
•\tNeed to work off-hours for client co-ordination: Occasionally
•\tTravelling off-shore (secondments) to other Stantec global offices: for durations ranging from 3 to 6 months or as required.
Associate Building Mechanical Engineer - HVAC
•\tBachelors Degree or Masters (M.E./M. Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute
•\tShould have minimum experience of 5 to 10 years.
•\tExperience in design (calculations, specifications, drawings) of HVAC related to Building Mechanical projects.
•\tProficient in use of typical HVAC design software from Carrier, Trane, or equal.
•\tAbility to perform pump and pipeline sizing for HVAC piping system.
•\tAbility to complete Mechanical general arrangement 3D models and drawings for plans, single line diagrams, sections, elevations in Revit/AutoCAD with minimal supervision
•\tExperience using associated discipline software especially AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, ProjectWise, Dynamo is desirable. Experience in HVAC; building energy audits
•\tThe following skills will be very useful *
o\tBasic knowledge of CAD/BIM software like Revit MEP, Auto CAD.
o\tBasic knowledge of Civil, Structural, Electrical, disciplines.
o\tExperience in Industrial Buildings

o\tCommunication skills - good command of written and spoken English (the position will require a high level of interaction Stantec engineers, technical staff, project leadership (Project Managers, Project Technical Leaders) in other global offices, and on occasion end client representatives.
