About the role:
Our growing Structural team in Perth are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Engineer to join and contribute to the success of our team.
The candidate will ideally have significant experience (minimum 7 years) working on commercial buildings and be an enthusiastic, energetic Engineer keen to contribute to the culture of the office. You will service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.
We operate across all building types, including health, education, Defence, commercial, retail and residential buildings. The role will enable you to thrive in a successful global firm during this exciting chapter of growth.
Day to day tasks would involve:
•\tWork closely and develop a trusted relationships with other project stakeholders, notably architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcome
•\tComplete projects in terms of programme, design execution, technical risk management and overall client satisfaction
•\tMentor Junior staff members
•\tPrepare drawings and calculations in support of design concepts.
•\tExecute project design, documentation, and contract administration
•\tLiaise with local authorities, clients and consultant team
•\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills
•\tAbility to liaise with client team, local authorities, and contractors
•\tAttend project meetings
•\tContribute to the overall strategy and development of the Structural team and to our company culture.
•\tAdhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need:
•\tBachelor Degree in Structural Engineering
•\tIdeally have 7+ years previous experience working in an engineering consultancy environment working on buildings projects. Projects within the Education, Health and Defence sectors would be advantageous however not compulsory
•\tKnowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
•\tStructural software knowledge of SpaceGass, RAM, ETABS or similar design programs
•\tKnowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
•\tKnowledge and capability across post tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber design fields
•\tIdeally be well connected/networked within the industry
•\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills
•\tAbility to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
•\tProblem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills
