We are looking for a graduate GIS Analyst to join our Australian Energy and Resources Business based in Perth. This position sits in Stantec’s geospatial team, assisting with internal GIS support, data management and geospatial analysis on a range of projects. These include environmental approvals, ecological surveys, mine closure and rehabilitation.

The geospatial team is at the forefront of innovation in the field of environmental science, and you will have the opportunity to become involved with exciting multi-disciplinary projects across Australia and further afield.

Key responsibilities

•\tFacilitate and manage digital field data collection across multiple field teams

•\tProduce high quality cartographical figures for technical reports

•\tFollow QA/QC procedures and maintain high standards of quality with all spatial data management and deliverables

•\tMaintain and update GIS databases

•\tHelp develop geospatial knowledge and drive innovation within the business

•\tProvide ad-hoc GIS support to Stantec staff

Qualifications:

To be successful in the role you’ll have

•\tDegree in Geographical Information Systems or similar Tertiary Qualification

•\tDemonstrable skills and experience using the ESRI software suite

•\tAbility to work across multiple projects/teams simultaneously, maintaining client and staff relationships while delivering work effectively and within time and budget constraints

•\tEfficient problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when required.

Desirable skills

•\tExperience with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro

•\tExperience and/or knowledge of ESRI Portal and server-side ESRI administration

•\tExperience with FME Desktop/Server

•\tScripting in Python and/or R

•\tKnowledge and/or interest in remote sensing and machine learning
