About the role
Our established Perth team is looking for an Energy Analyst/Engineer with knowledge and/or interest within the Renewable Energy/Sustainability sector to join us on a permanent basis.
The role will be supporting both our Electrical Lead and Sustainability Lead, so will be suitable for someone looking for a varied role across multiple disciplines/sectors. It is ideally suited to a candidate who has at least 3years’ experience working on a range of renewables, building energy and energy market related projects.
Day to day tasks would involve:
•\tResponsible for analysing building, generator and behind-the-meter renewable energy opportunities and financial projections
•\tPrepare financial feasibility models
•\tConduct project analysis, performance assessments, configuration options and levelised cost of energy (LCOE) assessments
•\tConduct renewable energy optimisation analysis
•\tCreate and optimise building energy modelling for new projects
•\tUse experience, standards and databases to estimate new building load/ consumption profiles.
•\tWork on optimisation of processes and templates
•\tKeep abreast of the Wholesale Energy Market and National Energy Market and apply new and historically pricing structures to potential renewable energy projects
•\tUtilise data analysis skills to interpret, query and harness data to solve engineering design problems
•\tIdentify and assess risks for proposed energy projects
•\tAssist with general sustainability and carbon options analysis
•\tAssist with any onsite audits, surveys, and data collection project requirements
•\tProduce calculations and reporting in accordance with Stantec quality standards
•\tMaintain an appropriate level of service to Clients.
•\tEffectively translate your analysis work into engineering reports suitable for both technical and non-technical readers.
•\tApply technical skills and commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly considered, personally reviewed, and delivered on time.
•\tBe accurate, diligent and professional.
•\tParticipate in meetings with clients and other consultants.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
•\tBachelor’s Degree in Science, Commerce, Engineering; or similar
•\tExcellent database management and querying skills
•\tExcellent Microsoft Excel skills
•\tHave some commercial solar/battery/energy storage/renewables (DER) experience
•\tDemonstrate a strong awareness of both commercial and technical aspects of potential projects.
•\tStrong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
•\tAbility to apply technical expertise in a way which balances commercial profitability, QA adherence, risk management and the morale of others.
•\tAbility to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
•\tAttention to detail
•\tAbility to use initiative and think outside the box
