This is a career opportunity for an archaeologist to create and manage a cultural resources team for a leading environmental consulting firm providing Section 106/NEPA analyses, technical studies, and project permitting for a wide variety of private and federal, state, and local government clients in Missouri and adjacent states. The individual will lead cultural resources projects, assist with business development opportunities, and provide successful and independent management of archaeological and historical resources projects, including direction of field studies and assembly, supervision, and direction of field teams.
Your Key Responsibilities
Technical resource lead and/or principal investigator for Section 106/NEPA investigations.
Mentor and supervise staff
Provide technical and operations resources for staff and project managers.
Ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical products through implementation of quality review and independent review protocols.
Lead technical elements of proposal development, including scope, budget, and schedule to ensure complete satisfaction.
Maintain a professional profile externally through membership in professional organizations, continually increasing client contact base.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Professional writing, problem solving, and communication skills
Valid driver's license and good driving record required
Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful completion of drug screen
Leading and conducting all phases of cultural resource investigations in the eastern US
Section 106 and 110 (NHPA) consultation
Preparing Data Recovery and Monitoring Plans
Lead Field Coordination
Registered Professional Archaeologist
Education and Experience
MA/MS in archaeology, especially of the Midwestern US. Demonstrated expertise in the application and interpretation of state and federal laws and regulations.
Minimum of 5 years and preferably 10 years of progressively responsible cultural resources positions, including supervisory, management, and team-oriented experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
