Your Opportunity

Stantec Consulting Services Inc. is actively seeking a Senior ITS Manager/Systems Engineer to join our Global ITS Roads & Vehicles Practice team in our Orlando, Florida Office!

Your Key Responsibilities

Work as a Senior ITS Manager reporting to the Global Practice Director, responsible for an initial portfolio of project assignments in Florida, Colorado, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Canada, United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.

Serve as Senior ITS Manager leading Stantec’s Florida statewide ITS R&V practice, in traditional ITS planning, design and construction projects as well as various growth areas such as Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) systems and TMC Operations.

Lead team pursuits and proposals with Stantec Roadway/Structure teams in Florida and nationally. Focus on support for Design-Build (DB) pursuits that include ITS, in Florida leading the ITS effort as Engineer of Record. Lead or assist in Design-Bid-Build (DBB) pursuits such as multi-disciplinary Roadway Design with ITS elements, Corridor Studies, and PD&E Studies, where Concept of Operations (ConOps) and Project Systems Engineering Management Plans (PSEMP) are required.

Lead and assist in the areas of Active Arterial Management, Active Freeway Management (Express Lanes/Ramp Metering/Dynamic Pricing/ICM), and Integrated Corridor Management (ICM).

Lead select ITS Operations pursuits (high revenue projects that can be targeted nationally with good client relationships) in support of the Global ITS R&V practice.

Manage Florida ITS delivery portfolio through supervision and staff development, including hiring as needed support staff such as ITS designers, electrical and communications experts, and traffic signal systems engineers.

Maintain existing and develop new client relationships through active conference participation in Florida and nationally (e.g. ITS America, Transportation Research Board, AUVSI).

The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate skills and experience in project portfolio management & ITS engineering specific to both private and public sector clients.

  • The private client support includes supervision and preparation of ITS services in a business to business context.

  • The public sector support includes systems engineering analyses related to ITS deployment as well as ITS design.

  • This position also requires marketing of company services to existing and potential clients by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals and conducting interviews and presentations.

  • This position may include supervision of technical staff and requires the ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and public agencies.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with ITS R & V systems engineering, design, technical report production in accordance with Federal Rule 940.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with consultant, FDOT, local government on transportation projects preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Master’s degree in Transportation

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida required, and eligibility for comity in Colorado preferred

  • Twenty-Five (25) years of experience working as a transportation engineer
