Your Opportunity
We are looking for a SIT, and/or Project Surveyor to help our growing statewide market! You will assist in setting up, overseeing and scheduling field crews as well as processing data for statewide transportation projects. This role also includes public record research, and calculations to resolve property boundaries and rights of way. Communication is key as you will be tasked with communicating with field crews as well as fellow analysts and surveyors. Will review design survey and mapping work and may also serve as the Project Manager on various sized survey projects. The role may include occasional field oversight and assistance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsible for survey calculations, processing, analysis, review of title data and public records, quality control, and client relations.
Sign and seal survey documents (Project Surveyors only)
Monitoring projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with clients on technical matters.
Works directly with project team members, to include other registered surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff.
Prepare Design Surveys, Right of Way Control Surveys, Right of Way Maps, and submittal items for varying FDOT Districts.
Plan field work including static GPS networks, level runs, right of way and alignment recovery, and terrestrial scan plans
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Requires advanced knowledge of local survey laws, surveying principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards, and safety precautions. (Project Surveyor)
Demonstrates intermediate to advanced skills in survey processing software.
Well-developed understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of survey work.
Working knowledge of relevant technical software including MicroStation
Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
Demonstrates strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry.
Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
Prior to employment, this position will require the successful passing of a pre-employment drug screen.
Education and Experience
Project Surveyor: Minimum of one-year post licensure transportation Project Management experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geomatics, Surveying or related field & Licensed by state/province in Land Surveying or equivalent Licensure.
MOT Certification a plus
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
