Stantec Transportation Engineer in New York, New York

The Transportation Engineer will work on a variety of traffic studies focusing on transportation planning, traffic engineering, and roadway operations and safety. There may be opportunity to participate in toll road feasibility studies.
Your Key Responsibilities
Managing traffic engineering projects, including managing clients, budget, and junior level staff.
Perform transportation planning studies, traffic operations analysis, traffic impact studies, speed studies, traffic signal timing analysis, crash analysis, and roadway safety audits.
Prepare microsimulation modeling, roadway operations design, prepare signal timing plans, traffic management plans, signage plans, and pavement markings.
Assist with traffic data collection and data analysis, write reports, and other technical assignments.
Draft technical memoranda and provide traffic engineering and transportation planning input to projects within transportation disciplines.
Attend client meetings and oversee fieldwork and data collection.
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Highly proficient in HCS and Synchro
Experience using VISSIM is a plus
Knowledge of appropriate Federal Highway Administration, AASHTO, state DOT, and other relevant guidelines, including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the AASHTO Green Book.
Experience with traffic and revenue forecasting is a plus.
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work in a team environment
Driver’s license required
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or Operations Research. Master's degree and/or PE licence preferred by note required. Minimum of 5-6 years of experience.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
