About the role:

Our established Melbourne Hydraulic section is seeking a Senior Engineer to contribute to the growth and success of the team.

The successful candidate will be able to lead and contribute to projects on behalf of the PE with limited supervision. You will be expected to service projects including those of relatively large size, of high complexity and with multiple clients.

The ideal candidate would have experience in health projects.

It is expected that you will apply your technical skills and commitment in a way which ensures projects are thoroughly designed, personally reviewed, and delivered on time.

Stantec are involved in a vast variety of project types including retail, health, office, residential, high rise, industrial, education etc. The successful candidate will be working in strong team environment and will need to manage several projects at any one time. You will be self-motivated, resourceful and an excellent communicator.

Day to day tasks would involve:

• Technically competent across key areas and demonstrated ability to manage technical risks

• Attend meetings and communicate clearly with clients and project team members

• Provide support and mentoring to Junior staff members

• Keep project lead informed as to project progress

• Innovating based on customer and industry requirements

• Participate in design reviews

• Support clients and internal customers on technical queries

• Provide assurance of having personally checked the work carried out.

• Bring value to in-house design meetings

To be successful for this role you'll need:

• Degree qualified in an engineering discipline

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Detailed knowledge of hydraulic systems

• Previous experience working in an Engineering consultancy environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Positive, can-do attitude

• Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
