We primarily serve public sector transit agencies in North America but offer our services to private sector clients as well. In this capacity, we work with executive and senior management to improve performance and ensure the application of industry leading practices in the provision of effective and efficient transit. Stantec has an immediate need for a Change Management Consultant in Toronto, ON.
Your Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Program Manager, the incumbent is responsible for creating and implementing change management plans and strategies for a transit program that will maximize employee engagement and minimize employee and stakeholder resistance.
The incumbent will work with various stakeholders to evaluate the current state, assess root causes and performance gaps and implement and/or support implementation of appropriate interventions.
The incumbent will serve as coach/facilitator in support of change management initiatives.
The Change Management Consultant will work to drive faster adoption, decrease resistance, greater utilization and higher proficiency on the changes impacting employees in the organization such that business results are achieved.
As a consultant for change, the incumbent is embedded in the organization. By applying standards, tools, controls, and best practices, the incumbent assists staff and unionized employees with the implementation of organizational change
Please note: The successful candidate will be meeting with employees in a transit operations environment. Meeting hours and locations will require flexibility
Anticipates and identifies potential sponsors of and barriers to change, develops counter strategies to reduce resistance and mitigates areas of doubt and uncertainty
Supports communication and training efforts for corporate cultural change initiatives
Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress; - Follows up, as required, with any problems and ensures implementation of action plans/solutions
Creating and activating reinforcement mechanisms and success milestones;
Perform related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required: - University Degree/College Diploma in Business Administration, Psychology/Sociology Organizational Development, or other related field combined with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a change management practitioner
Must have or rapidly acquire a thorough knowledge of organizational structure, functions, operations, policies and procedures applicable to the work performed, understanding of the unique challenges present in a unionized environment
Sound knowledge of change management principles, practices and methodologies
Experience in the practical application of change management methods and strategy combined with a solid understanding of how people go through change and the overall change process
Project management experience and excellent facilitation and coaching skills
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to negotiate and influence within a collaborative framework
Ability to establish, build and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders for the purpose of meeting the corporate objectives
Team player with the ability to work with and through others
Familiarity with change management tools and templates - Sound judgement; excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, presentation, active listening, oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with computers and computer based techniques and applications related to the work are essential
Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
