We want individuals to join our growing North American based team to support geospatial challenges across Stantec; apply your technical experience and use of geospatial solutions to a wide spectrum of projects. As such, we have an exciting and rewarding role to join our expanding team. We are seeking to add a GIS Data Analyst to our Water Delivery discipline .

Your Opportunity

This role as a GIS Data Analyst is a technical focused role responsible in supporting the water delivery geospatial discipline utilizing geospatial technology to help our clients to meet the challenges faced within the Water industry. You will support the delivery of innovative geospatial solutions for both our internal business and our clients operating around water/wastewater utilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Uses geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information Systems

  • Utilize Esri software stack to support geospatial solutions (Dashboards, web mapping, etc.)

  • Supports CMMS/EAMS solution implementations

  • Create asset inventory databases to support asset management development

  • Assists in the development of water, waste/storm water utility modeling

  • Support facility integrity/condition assessment studies

  • Develop expertise in the integration of GIS with other technologies around asset management

  • Implement custom code where needed in solutions. Whether a Python geoprocessing script, Power Automate flows, widgets in ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, or a complete custom map viewer.

  • Be proficient in ETL (extract/transform/load) tasks using Python, FME, ArcGIS API for Python, or other similar toolsets

  • Performs additional tasks specific to an area of expertise or technology.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Significant knowledge of geospatial concepts and data processing techniques

  • Significant experience with ESRI software suite including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise

  • Knowledge of Mobile GIS; data collection methods, ESRI Field Maps app, Survey 123, etc.

  • Knowledge of utility asset management

  • Understanding of record drawings and municipal utilities (sanitary, storm, water, electric, gas)

  • Familiarity with CMMS applications (such as Cityworks, Lucity, Infor EAM, Cartegraph, Maximo, etc.)

  • Esri Utility Network knowledge would be preferred

  • Experience with publishing data and configuring web apps on the ArcGIS Online platform.

  • Experience creating solutions using ArcGIS platform applications including Field Maps, Survey 123, Web AppBuilder, and Dashboard

  • Ability to understand storyboards, wireframes, and simple prototypes; and, how to develop them into real solutions.

  • Experience creating Python routines using the ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python libraries.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and the Power Platform (BI, Automate, Apps) is preferred.

  • Experience working in a consultant role is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with MS Office software

  • Can work well in a team environment without direct supervision and ability to productively work from home.

  • Ability to travel for projects and assignments; typical duration a few days including occasional overnight stays.

  • Willing to work non-traditional hours as needed

  • Maintain high regard for personal safety and safety of others

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in GIS, Data Science, or related field.

  • Candidates with zero years’ experience should apply if they have participated in internships or Co-ops with similar applicable skills
