Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician to work with our Construction Quality Assurance group on large, long-term construction projects in the Power and Dams sectors. Potential projects that you will be assigned to are typically located in the Southeast United States. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Construction observation and monitoring

  • Testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and/or geosynthetic materials

  • Monitoring of instrumentation.

  • Interaction with Client Representatives, Contractors, and Engineers.

  • Operation of computerized and digital testing equipment.

  • This position will require primarily field work with the willingness and ability to relocate and/or travel regionally for the duration of the project.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to interpret and understand design drawings, specifications, and CQA plans.

  • Interested candidates should have (or have the ability to obtain) certifications related to the position (ACI, nuclear density gauges, NICET, geosynthetics (GCI-ICP), etc.).

  • Experience with field construction activities is a plus.

  • A valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

  • A pre-employment drug screen may also be required.

  • Proficient with desktop office software applications (word processor, spreadsheets, etc.).

  • Working knowledge of codes and design requirements is a plus.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with a team on large complex projects.

  • Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.

  • Working understanding of policies and procedures for Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) protection, including client-specific training (as required).

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate or Associate in Civil Engineering Technology or similar program a plus.

Minimum 2 years related experience preferred.

This position will require relocation to the assigned construction site in the Southeast US.
