Stantec’s Digital Solutions team works closely with project managers and clients to develop solutions that enable our clients to have top tier information access and analytics. This journey includes identifying, defining, and developing those products. Several products and service-oriented solutions have been developed at version 1.0 and more are being defined.
Our goal is to transform the water industry with best-in-class digital solutions. These solutions cover the complete project and water lifecycle, from planning to operations, and watershed management to wastewater treatment.
We are looking for an Applications Developer to join our growing team. As a Developer in our Digital Solutions team, you will be responsible for analyzing, planning, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining various digital solutions. You will play a key role in both project consulting work and product development and you will have the chance to work on interesting projects and build your career!
Your Key Responsibilities
Perform full lifecycle development for a variety of current and future digital solutions including analytical dashboard and interfaces.
Understand clients’ application requirements.
Identify key application features.
Identify areas for modification and develop modifications
Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines.
Perform unit and integration testing before launch.
Find bugs and offer timely solutions.
Test existing applications, identify deficiencies, and offer solutions.
Maintain and upgrade existing systems.
Implement best practices to produce highly reusable design components that can apply to multiple clients.
Work closely with other developers, UX designers and analysts.
Capabilities and Credentials
Well-versed in software design and programming principles.
Experience using source version control with Git.
Exposure to Azure environments and technologies
Has designed/developed for reusability.
Experience working on internal corporate and technical applications.
Comfortable collaborating, communicating and working as a team to address issues found throughout the development and planning process.
Good time-management skills
Be prepared to travel to attend meetings if/when required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing custom software applications
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
