You will have the opportunity to work as a key part of a team of engineers and other technical staff delivering multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. Your Key Responsibilities
Supervising, training and mentoring junior and intermediate colleagues.
Performing quantity calculations and construction cost estimating.
Performing calculations to analyze and design electrical system components.
Organizing and interpreting electrical engineering data to prepare clear and concise design drawings, BIM models, engineering reports and technical documentation.
Assembling and organizing specification and drawing packages for project delivery.
Performing project construction observations, interpreting contract documents, enforcing contract specifications, and reviewing construction submittals for accuracy, completeness and design consistency in coordination with the project electrical engineer.
Prioritizing and executing multiple assignments efficiently and effectively.
Assisting with ensuring conformance to applicable electrical codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Ensuring project standards are enforced.
Performing QA/QC and peer review of work by junior and intermediate colleagues.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Ability to coordinate work on large, complex projects.
Well developed understanding of electrical and building codes
Basic knowledge of complex electrical engineering calculations.
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness
Understand electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Ability to manage individual and group time to meet project budget and schedule
Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.
Highly proficient in relevant software programs including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, Revit and Adobe Acrobat.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Thorough understanding of CAD/BIM Standards
Ability and willingness to supervise and mentor junior and intermediate staff.
Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
