Your Duties

Stantec is currently searching for an Owners Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) Coordination Manager with 8 or more years of relevant work experience to include landside, airside, and utilities projects to assist in our growing practice. The OCIP Coordination Manager will be based out of our Houston, TX location.

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and/or administering the Owners Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) for the Houston Airport System IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program (ITRP).

  • The OCIP Coordination Manager shall support the OCIP broker provision of policy, underwriting and insurance placements, administrative services, pre-bid activity needs, enrolment process, contractor and subcontractor admittance and renewal activity, payroll data gathering/entering functions, construction volume services/changes, as established in the timetable specified by the HAS.

  • The OCIP Coordination manager shall support and ensure compliance over the OCIP broker’s provision of ongoing functional services such as badging/contractor enrollment, certificate tracking, claims administration, safety and training, monthly/quarterly loss trending/reporting, site visits and meeting requirements, annual stewardship presentation and executive summary report, and annual carrier payroll/policy audits.

  • The OCIP Coordination Manager shall support efforts in handling and settlement of OCIP claims with insurers by (a) obtaining application of coverage, (b) obtaining draft responses on reservation of rights letters, (c) interceding in claims disputes when necessary and (d) providing backup support to the HAS’s staff.

  • The OCIP Coordination Manager shall ensure that the OCIP broker provide coordinated, efficient, and cost effective professional safety and loss prevention services. The coordination manager shall ensure insurance carrier’s services include a basic safety program standard for OCIP programs to include:

  1. Creation of appropriate safety training programs

  2. Job specific and target focused training, including

  3. Evaluation of the construction safety program

  4. Monthly vendor loss control services

  5. Participation in special loss control projects

  6. Ensuring that all training is provided in bilingual formats (English & Spanish), and is within ADA compliance measures

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proven experience in managing the set-up, implementation and conclusion of an OCIP, including the managing of brokerage and administrative services.

  • Relevant job experience in the field of insurance brokerage / insurance provider of at least 8 years

  • Regulatory/Legal – Knowledge of legislation and regulation pertaining to medical records access, general provisions of the Worker’s Compensation Act, OSHA requirements for various medical surveillance programs, regulations pertinent to physical examination protocols and medical requirements for construction; regulations relating to safety and health issues.

  • Knowledge of Company organization and management structure; Corporate Polices and Guidelines; Construction site procedure and guidelines; a working knowledge of the functional job requirements for various position functional requirements for jobs within the Company in order to communicate with physicians regarding the accommodation of employees on restricted work duty.
