We have a vacancy to join our established GEO team and we are flexible on location, as we are looking to increase headcount due to project workload and ambitious plans for growth in the future. The GEO team offers contaminated land, geotechnical and geo-hazard consultancy services. The team works on a range of local and national projects and frameworks with private clients / developers on the investigation, assessment, remediation, and redevelopment of brownfield land as well as servicing internal teams for road, rail and other infrastructure and energy projects.
You will work closely across our multidisciplinary teams on delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme, liaising with internal and external clients, providing assessment and analysis of geological and contaminated land data. You will have working knowledge of the UK’s contaminated land regime and legislative framework including the planning system. You will be responsible for drafting technical reports, preparing tender documents for ground investigations, and providing cost estimates/proposals for land development projects. You will provide support to our Technical Directors and Associates in project delivery, work winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
This is a key role within our team and there will be ample scope to grow and develop your personal profile and learn new skills along the way to further your career.
You will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g., geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, environmental science), and working towards Chartered status which we are keen to fully support and help you through the process.
You will have knowledge and understanding of relevant codes of practice, industry standards and have broad understanding of environmental legislation. You will be supported in gaining experience of the design, management and supervision of ground investigations using a range of site investigation techniques including accurate collection of site data and the preparation of preliminary risk assessments, factual and interpretive reports including GQRA; good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management, as applied to ground investigation. You will also have the necessary skills to work with external clients and other professional staff across our multi-disciplinary business groups.
