The Senior Project Manager and Licensed Environmental Professional position has significant career growth potential for the right person. The candidate will work on a variety of site investigation and remediation projects, development projects with environmental concerns, Brownfields projects, due diligence assessments, LEP verifications and EHS compliance projects in New England and the eastern US.
The position entails project management, business development and technical support on environmental projects ranging from site investigations to remediation. Some specific responsibilities include managing field work including soil and groundwater sampling, well installation oversight and coordination, and stormwater and waste sampling; preparation of Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments, closure verification reports, environmental compliance documents, remedial action plans, and various regulatory program permit applications; providing on-site EHS support at client facilities; compiling and interpreting analytical data; and coordinating and communicating effectively with clients, subcontractors, and regulators.
Growand manage a developing multi-sector office and planning and executing growth strategy and business development efforts for the future with a focus on Connecticut and New York development, LEP site cleanup and verification, natural resources business, cross-selling the various Stantec business with a focus on all environmental services and on US energy (wind, solar, oil and gas, electric transmission and distribution), infrastructure and/or transportation (highways, bridges, and railroad) sector clients.

Strong commitment to safety;
Provide collaborative leadership and project management on a wide variety of environmental site clean-up, planning and permitting projects for energy, government, and private sector clients throughout New England.
Hire, train, develop, mentor, and retainstaff as we grow our client base and workload.
Assist in building our LEP capabilities and program in CT.
Assist in building our capabilities, and environmental services in Metro NY and tie in western Massachusetts and Albany business areas.
Participate and sometimes lead marketing and business development activities on a local, state, and regional level.
Sustain & grow regional clients & key accounts in Connecticut, with a focus on environmental services.
Identify and win work related to environmental site cleanup and permitting projects, programs and opportunities while leveraging Stantec relationships for ES with existing Federal, State, and private sector clients.
Assist with expanding the entire range of Stantec services in the Connecticut and lower New York state and champion an integrated services approach.
Build, grow and develop a team of high performers; recruit & retain specialist staff within the practice with a focus on safety.
Develop in-house Sector expertise, best practices, and research & development initiatives.
Actively participate in regional and national industry groups to advance the Stantec brand within the various Sectors.
Identify trends and develop a long-term view of the industry, market and client base
Assist in the growth of ES in the office and service areas in New England an NY
Anticipate medium and long-term client needs and industry dynamics
Collaborate with other Stantec offices, Sectors and disciplines outside the region
Innovate and enhance ES’s capabilities, geographic foot print and integrated approach
Your Capabilities and Credentials
A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Science is required -Master’s degree a plus;
A Connecticut LEP license is a requirement;
Experience with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan, NY DEC regulations and related environmental regulations are a plus;
Strong report writing experience is required;
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER/up-to-date refreshers mandatory and behavior-based health and safety certifications is a plus;
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus;
Good client communications skills are a requirement;
Valid driver's license and a good driving record is required;
Willing and able to travel occasionally is a plus; and
Ability to sell professional services and manage multiple projects and staff is a requirement.
