Your Opportunity

We’re looking for Civil Engineering interns for our summer 2022 internship program! As an intern, you will:

  • Work alongside professionals in the Engineering & Environmental Consulting industry

  • Gain valuable experience and accomplishments to add to your resume

  • Meet new people and practice networking skills while establishing a network of professional contacts, mentors, and references

  • Apply some of the ideas learned in school and provide a bridge between school and the professional world

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Respect and assist our clients by being responsive and reliable.

  • Drafting, code research, and field observations.

  • Drafting, computer modeling, data entry, assistance with preparation of construction plans and specifications, and communicating with clients.

  • Serving our customers with by completing indirect tasks such as transporting equipment/tools between job sites, running samples to the appropriate laboratory, or delivering vehicles/equipment for maintenance and general office assistance.

  • Providing support to other groups within Wenck, as business needs dictate, allowing exposure to other disciplines and client types related to engineering and environmental science.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering design.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • Understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.

  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and basic, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently within a team.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.

  • Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required).

Education and Experience

Current Civil Engineering student at an accredited university.

Co-op/Internship experience preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
