Your Opportunity

In this position as a Senior Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring other technologists

  • Preparing functional, preliminary and detailed design engineering drawings

  • Computer aided drafting and design of civil works (including roadways, bridges, culverts and municipal works

  • Creating 3D earthwork, road and underground utility pipe models in Civil3D

  • Geometric design of roadways and site developments

  • Prepare technical analysis and design; including cost estimating, quantity calculations, etc.

  • Prepare and review construction tender/contract documents

-Importing/exporting/processing/analyzing survey data

  • Providing technical support

  • Review of Contractor submissions such as shop drawings, schedules, etc.

  • Surveying, field construction observation and inspection and administrating contracts

  • Liaison with all discipline team members, sub-consultants, clients and agencies

  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering Technology diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution

  • Membership as, or eligibility to become a Certified Engineering Technologist with the local Provincial Technologist Association

  • Experience with all aspects of roadway/highway design (e.g. alighments, geometrics, staging, utilities, quantity calculation, contract documents, constructability)

-Practical knowledge of TAC design procedures and standards (preferred)

  • General understanding of other road design requirements (e.g. drainage / hydraulic design, environmental design / mitigation measures, engineering surveys, geotechnical investigations and design)

  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills that constitute a team player

  • The preferred candidate will be energetic, well organized and self-motivated

  • Ability to work on multiple projects with the ability to effectively prioritize

  • Strong verbal and written sills are required

  • Minimum 10 years experience
