Your Opportunity

A Legal Assistant/Paralegal position is available within our Risk Management group. This role is responsible for a range of legal and administrative tasks to support Stantec’s Risk Management team.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents including corporate resolutions, officer certificates, Powers of Attorney and transactional and other corporate documents

  • Provide corporate support including incorporations and dissolutions, amendments, registrations and withdrawals

  • Complete annual returns

  • Provide administrative support for our intellectual property portfolio

  • File management, including maintaining and updating minute books and corporate records

  • Prepare and draft various correspondence and documents

  • Perform general administrative functions as required

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe and Excel applications

  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Motivated self-starter who takes initiative, is able to multitask, and is willing to take on tasks as needed

  • Efficient, organized, high attention to detail, meticulous records maintenance skills

  • Professional and capable of handling confidential matters

  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Willingness to learn and a positive attitude are critical

Education and Experience

  • Five years of legal experience (compensation and title commensurate with experience).

  • Business or paralegal diploma from an accredited institution is an asset.
