We are looking for a Junior Technician/Technologist to join our Geotechnical and Materials Testing team in our Edmonton office on a casual, as needed, basis to support the varying workload in this group.
There may be an opportunity for this position to convert to a full-time role if work volumes warrant it and the incumbent is successful in completing their initial probationary period.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will work with engineers and other technicians/technologists performing general geotechnical field and laboratory duties that may include but are not limited to:
Conducting of full range of laboratory tests in soils/concrete/asphalt lab - Conducting materials testing and inspection services during construction (including compaction and concrete testing)
Construction quality control/quality assurance documentation
Test pit and borehole logging
Proposal and report assistance
Other general field related duties

Initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Valid Driver’s License and must be willing to provide a driver’s abstract for review
Ability to travel as this position may require traveling and working outside of Edmonton, Alberta
Education and Experience
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent
Experience in geotechnical related work such as drilling investigations, laboratory testing, on-site construction activities, supporting design of deep/shallow foundations and slope stability would be considered an asset
