Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Financial Manager with strong multi-tasking, interpersonal and organizational skills. As a key member of the Financial Services team and business partner with operations, the Financial Manager will provide financial expertise for Alberta operations and be based in Edmonton.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Operations Leadership, Project Controls and Project Managers.

  • Help Leadership manage WIP and AR, including monthly WIP and AFDA reviews.

  • Review draft financial statements, analysis and reconciliations.

  • Prepare executive summaries of the results of the business.

  • Analyze project revenues and expenses to identify potential problems on projects.

  • Supervise Project Administrators.

  • Have a strong understanding of contractual agreements with clients.

  • Support Managing Leaders in the development of annual operating and capital budgets.

  • Work with both internal and external auditors.

  • Provide support on potential new acquisitions, and integration of project financial data.

  • Coordinate processes with other Financial Mangers and Controllers across all business lines to determine and implement best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, and protocols.

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry would be an asset.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred

  • Experience in a Financial Management position (Leadership and Supervisory roles)

  • Ability to build strong relationships with project managers, project controls and management

  • A desire to work in a team environment

  • Motivated to help project managers and senior managers understand the financial aspect of their projects

  • Proactive approach to avoid unnecessary WIP and AR Provisions.

  • Understanding of the various systems and processes and how they can best be applied to streamline administrative practices.

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Commerce or related field. Professional accounting designation. Minimum of 7-8 years of experience.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
