An opportunity currently exists for an Electrical Engineer-in-Training in our Edmonton Buildings Group.
The successful candidate will have a well-rounded combination of technical design skills in the area of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low tension systems of new buildings or existing building modernization projects. He or she will also possess an excellent client management ability particularly in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary design team, to deliver innovative and cost effective design solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
Participation in client design and planning meetings
Preparation of engineering drawings and specifications
Multi-disciplinary coordination and client/project design team consultation
Engineering supervision during construction
Your Capabilities and Credentials
B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of experience in design and construction administration in retail, commercial and/or institutional building projects.
Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and Alberta Building Code.
Currently registered with APEGA as an E.I.T.
Working knowledge of Revit is crucial as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience using lighting and power system modeling software would be an asset.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a “team player” approach to design and problem solving;
Proficiency in written and spoken English
