Due to the continued success of our Middle East operations, we are looking for a Senior Road Management Centre (RMC) Traffic Operations & Maintenance Engineer to join our diverse team in Doha, Qatar.
The RMC operation & maintenance engineer will work as part of a team to manage incidents, monitor congestion and facilitate maintenance activities using various tools available in the RMC Software System.
Qatar Public Works Authority, known as Ashghal, has constructed and is operating a Roads Management Centre to coordinate its maintenance and operations as activities. It is a state-of-the-art facility, which uses a range of best in class technologies to maintain, monitor and manage the roads assets under the responsibility of Assets Affairs. The RMC is the hub for all Ashghal road asset related issues and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has the tools available to respond to and manage incidents and events that affect the Ashghal network quickly and safely. It is already an integral part of the Qatar National infrastructure and is working alongside key network partners such as MOI, MOTC, Supreme Committee and others to improve road safety, reduce congestion and improve the customer experience.
The Senior operation & maintenance engineer candidate will be responsible for but not limited the following tasks:
• The dissemination of information regarding active
incidents.
• Coordination with emergency response units.
• Maintaining a working knowledge of all RMC system
applications.
• Continuous monitoring of system devices.
• Perform all traffic and safety related operations and
record keeping duties associated with the smooth
operations of the RMC. Examples of duties include:
• Monitor system resources to quickly detect and identify
incident or hazardous conditions
• Monitor Roadway Weather Information System
• Assist in preparing incident and construction event
information for subsequent dissemination
• Display library or template based variable message sign
messages in accordance with RMC guidelines
• Monitor system performance and generate work order
reports as required
• Perform record keeping tasks such as daily
communication logs and incident reports.
• Coordinate with other agency and construction staff
• Reporting incidents using a variety of media and
communication techniques
• Support organizational values in delivering safer roads,
sustainability and proactive traffic monitoring and
incident management.
• Provide accurate and timely information to stakeholders
and the traveling public, e.g., other agencies and
personnel as requested.
• Monitor the operation of the network by analyzing
information from the GIS, Police Services, traffic
management systems, including CCTV, historic and
predicted traffic patterns.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 -15 years of Post Qualification experience
working with Intelligent Transportation Systems and
Traffic Management Center operations.
• Experience working for a municipal transportation
department and working knowledge of central operating
platforms for traffic cameras and electronic message
signs.
• Experience with of central traffic signal systems.
• Excellent project management skills, including problem
solving, maturity, empowerment and communication
skills
• Ability to lead and follow protocol during a crisis
situation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate
with internal agencies on status of various
situations/projects.
• Excellent communication skills including fluency in
Arabic.
• Strong organisational, presentation, and customer
service skills
