Your Duties

We are interested in hiring a highly motivated self-starter who is willing to take ownership of tasks, calculations, reports, etc. and who is interested in learning and practicing geotechnical/geological engineering within the mining industry. This individual will be responsible for assisting senior staff in the execution of multi-disciplinary mining design projects around the world, and must be well organized and capable of juggling and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously. Travel to mine sites for field inspections, supervision of field investigations, or other field activities may be required. The individual selected for this role will be exposed to a variety of design- and engineering-related tasks and will have ample opportunity to gain experience in other fields of engineering and project management as well, if so desired. This position entails strong potential for career growth and advancement, and the selected candidate will be encouraged to take ownership of their own career path.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Job Qualifications:

  • BS degree in civil, geotechnical, or geological engineering (or similar engineering field) from an accredited institution, or will be graduating with a BS degree by September 2018 (MS or PhD degrees also strongly considered)

  • Previous internship experience is desired, but not required

  • Good interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work both in a team and individually

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to milti-task and prioritize work, while taking direction from project leaders.
