Your Opportunity

Stantec is growing its’ Oklahoma City presence and has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced mid-level Civil Engineer. You will be assigned many different types and sizes of projects that will provide opportunities to perform civil design/analysis, plan production, specification preparation, and much more on some very exciting and unique projects in the municipal, federal, and other public sectors.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the civil technical design lead on civil and multidiscipline projects requiring water or wastewater system assessment, rehabilitation and/or design.

  • Understand project budgets, quality control, and adherence to project schedules. Coordinate with Project Manager regularly to verify status is on track.

  • Work with project team to develop construction drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

  • Serve as the Civil Engineering interface on projects assigned and interact with municipal and federal clients and team members independently to maintain appropriate communication.

  • Collaborate with senior staff in the execution of projects and the development of business opportunities.

  • Function independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment to successfully achieve group goals.

  • Perform calculations to analyze and design individual components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

  • Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.

  • Perform field work as required.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A strong working knowledge of civil engineering design including water collection and distribution system design and construction, gravity sewer design and construction, groundwater well pumping stations, wastewater lift stations, wastewater distribution design and construction and master planning.

  • Experience in construction management: ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Enforce contractor compliance to plans and specifications.

  • Proficient knowledge of GIS, CAD and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Proven ability to maintain relationships with existing clients, while establishing trust and credibility.

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting, engaging in creative and critical thought.

  • Ability to travel as necessary to satisfy job requirements, estimated 10-15% of time.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.

  • Experience in master planning and hydraulic modelling a plus.

  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment a plus.

  • Must have good driving record and valid driver's license.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or similar accredited engineering degree.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in State of Oklahoma or ability to obtain license within six months of hire.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
