Our company is an international, multidisciplinary firm, providing services to a wide base of clients across the globe. Our Environmental Services group in Coral Gables, Florida is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our Team. Our group is dedicated to managing environmental projects for transportation, municipal, and private developer clients, primarily within the South Florida region. We provide our clients with a wide range of services including natural resource assessments and permitting, permit compliance oversight, NEPA compliance and document preparation, Phase I contamination assessments, ecosystem restoration design and construction, environmental planning and design services, and sea level rise analyses.
We are seeking qualified and highly motivated candidates who are knowledgeable in South Florida ecosystems. Preferred experience includes, but is not limited to: wetland delineations, wetland functional assessments, wildlife surveys, environmental permitting and regulatory agency coordination in South Florida. Prior experience with NEPA, wetland mitigation, Phase I Contamination Assessments, benthic surveys, and/or GIS is highly favorable.
Candidate will work in a team effort to conduct natural resource field surveys and research for the preparation of biological impact assessments, NEPA documents, and permit applications for a variety of projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, municipalities, and private developers. The position may require working directly with the client at the client’s office in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties.
Responsibilities will also include:
Identification of potential environmental impacts through reviews of engineering plans, aerials, and GIS databases;
Technical Report writing;
Wetland Functional Assessments (UMAM, WRAP);
Wetland Mitigation Monitoring;
GIS analysis and exhibit creation.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in biological/environmental sciences with a minimum of one (1) year professional experience or a M.S. in biological/environmental science field.
Scuba certification by a recognized agency and scientific diving experience to collect scientific data is a plus.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills are required.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting regulations and ArcGIS experience is also desirable.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to work in the field are required.
A relevant work history is required.
Salary is commensurate with level of experience and qualification.
